Sapien. The reason behind this is more straightforward. All humans are classified as homo sapiens, making “Sapien” akin to humanity’s last name. Additionally, “Sapien” means “wise,” acknowledging the inherent wisdom common in humans. This primal quality is the essence of what I try to evoke in my artwork.
When I sign my work “Ai Sapien,” it’s because it’s something personal, rooted in love, that seeks to connect to the inner wisdom in all humans and opens the door to both ancient sentiments and new technologies.
