Explore the Wordless Novels Series

The Wordless Novels series represents a long-form visual exploration that has unfolded over 25 years, comprising seven 300-page books. The overarching theme of the series is 'art for the love of life,' delving into contemporary explorations of challenging themes related to life, society, humanity, and ultimately, God’s love.

The journey began with Animal in 2025, a fully handmade book featuring 300 original drawings, each crafted with watercolor pencil and archival ink on cotton paper. Every page was meticulously created by hand.

The next volume, Age, currently in progress, introduces a new layer of complexity. It contains 299 hand-drawn pages alongside one image generated by AI, which utilizes a model trained exclusively on the artist’s own body of work. As the Wordless Novels series progresses, this ratio will shift. By the conclusion, the seventh book—Agape—will consist entirely of AI-generated imagery.

Across the entire series, there will be 2,000 images: half human-made and half AI-generated imagery. The goal is to integrate AI slowly and seamlessly, blurring the line between what is crafted by hand and what is produced by machine, making it increasingly difficult—and eventually impossible—to distinguish between the two.

The artist is certified in generative AI, has designed custom AI art models, and was an early adopter of this technology. Despite this background, achieving the 'flawed' expressiveness characteristic of her own style through AI remains a continuous challenge. The imperfections created by humans differ significantly from those generated by machines. This evolving contrast adds another dimension to the project: it serves as a long-term case study of both human artistic growth and the advancements in AI-generated imagery from 2025 to 2050.

Beneath the technical experimentation lies a deeply personal narrative. The series also represents a spiritual journey, unfolding across the symbolic arc of the additive color spectrum—a recurring visual and thematic motif that embodies light, transformation, and revelation. This spectrum not only provides structure and inspiration but also connects each book to one another and to a deeper, unseen narrative.
