The Wordless Novels series is a long-form visual exploration unfolding over 25 years, composed of seven 300-page books. The theme of the series is “art for the love of life,” and involves a contemporary exploration of challenging themes related to life, society, humanity and ultimately God’s love.
The series began with Animal in 2025, a fully handmade book of 300 original drawings, each created with watercolor pencil and archival ink on cotton paper. Every page was crafted by hand.
The next volume, Age, currently in progress, introduces a new layer. It contains 299 hand-drawn pages and one image generated by AI, using a model trained exclusively on the artist’s own body of work. As the series continues, that ratio shifts. By the end, the seventh book—Agape—will be made entirely using AI-generated imagery.
Across the full series, there will be 2,000 images: half human-made, half AI-generated. The goal is to introduce AI slowly and seamlessly, to the point where the line between what’s made by hand and what’s made by machine becomes harder—and eventually impossible—to distinguish.
The artist holds certifications in generative AI, has designed custom AI art models, and was an early adopter of the technology. Even with that background, getting AI to mimic the "flawed" expressiveness of her own style remains an ongoing challenge. The imperfections made by humans and those made by machines tend to be very different. This evolving contrast gives the project another dimension: it becomes a long-term case study in both human artistic growth and the progression of AI-generated imagery between 2025 and 2050.
Beneath the technical experimentation is something much more personal. The series is also a spiritual journey, unfolding across the symbolic arc of the additive color spectrum—a recurring visual and thematic motif that reflects light, transformation, and revelation. What the spectrum symbolizes becomes both structure and inspiration, connecting each book not only to one another but to a deeper, unseen narrative.
With the exception of Agape, dates are estimated.
